Small Town Treason Some Very English Murders Book 5 edition by Issy Brooke Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks

Sometimes it’s hard to like the ones that you love…
Julie Rose, a local dog-walker, was a saint. She was warm, generous and helped everyone around her. But when she’s found dead in a locked bathroom, darker secrets begin to creep into the light. The pleasant middle-aged woman was not all that she seemed to be.
Penny May wants nothing to do with the investigation - it’s not her business. She’s learned her lesson. And she is busy with her own pursuit of a love life.
The police soon assemble their list of suspects. Soon she discovers one of the suspects is someone close to her, and then another comes begging for help, and Penny finds herself deeply involved … and very firmly on the wrong side of the law.
As the small British town gears up to the annual Bonfire Night celebrations, treason is on everyone’s mind. Guy Fawkes thought that the end justified the means - does Penny?
It is a question Penny has to face when she finds herself sitting alone in a police cell…
This is a clean read suitable for all; it’s a standalone novel with no cliffhanger, and the mystery is fair-play and solved.
“Some Very English Murders” can be enjoyed in any order but you may prefer to follow them chronologically. This is Book Five.

By Issy BrookFirst of all I must admit that I'm Danish and not so good at expressing myself in written English. But I'd really like to recommend the Lincolnshire writer Issy Brooke to you! A few months ago I read the first novel in "Cosy English murder mysteries, Small town shock" . I must say I fell for it because of the very English atmosphere and the easygoing way the new life as a rural village citizen is described. Penny May is a very funny kind of person and a typical Londoner who wants to fit in in the country!
Now I have read the fifth book in the series and I think that the author has moved a very long way. This book is more exiting and now Penny has more friends to interact with in a very cosy way. Her sister and children has moved to town as has her old London friend and furthermore Penny is in love with Drew but nothing much is happening.
Then there is the murder with which Penny is trying not to interfere. The author really keep the suspense all the book long and I must say that I loved reading it while I enjoyed the cosiness in the description of real English rural life and the wonderful interaction with family and friends. Keep them coming, Issy, and I will keep living with the persons in Upper Glenfield.

Small Town Treason Some Very English Murders Book 5 edition by Issy Brooke Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
I absolutely adore Ms Brooke's books. There is no gory or over the top bloody details, no serial or high profile killers, just regular ordinary everyday people making mistakes.
There is always a different twist to these stories and this is why I like this series. I like penny and her family.
Small Town Treason is a highly enjoyable cozy mystery set in Lincolnshire, England. The fun book is filled with likeable characters, a challenging murder to solve and charming images of the countryside in which it is set. I was unable to solve the "who done it" which always makes for a good read. I strongly recommend the book to devotees of the cozy mystery and to newcomers to the genre.
This series is just right. They are well written, but light enough to make an enjoyable read. Always interesting to see the difference in the UK and the USA too.
Love this series nice easy read that leaves me wanting to find out what is happening next
A good story in a British Mystery series. Likeable mature characters solve a mystery in a small town. Always enjoy the doggies in the story too.
I give Issy five stars for all of her books. The plots are interesting. The stories are captivating and uplifting. Her books are wholesome, well-structured and well-written. Her characters are interesting and likeable and loveable. Each of her books are page turners and provide a refreshing escape from the troubles of our world.
